Ice Baths: The Do’s and Don’ts

If you’ve ever complained about a swimming pool that was too cold, maybe it’s time to re-evaluate… As part of their training routine, athletes around the world have been incorporating ice baths into their regiment in order to quicken the healing process. It’s believed that “the exposure to cold helps to combat the microtrauma (small tears) in muscle fibers and resultant soreness caused by intense or repetitive exercise”.
